Meet Our Team

Dr. David Afram

Dr. David Afram, is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and has been board certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 2009. He is also a fellow of theAmerican Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Surgeons.

Dr. Afram attended McGill university in Montreal, Canada, where he graduated with honors with a B.Sc in biology. After completing his medical degree, Dr. Afram completed his residency training at the George Washington University Hospital where he also received the teaching award for the Council on Residents Education in obstetrics and gynecology.

Medical areas of interests are high risk obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and hy steroscopic surgeries. Dr. Afram is a former assistant clinical professor at the West Virginia school of medicine.

In his free time Dr. Afram enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and soccer and reading with special interest in history and international affairs.

Meet Our Providers

Dr. Jacqueline Placette

Dr. Jacqueline Placette is originally from Massachusetts where she attended Northeastern University and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Physics. Sheobtained her medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.Her residency training was at Phoenix Integrated Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology a combined residency program from both St. Joseph’s Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center. She performed a clinical fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital’s Women’s Center where she also was an assistant clinical professor at Virginia time with her family, hiking, mountain bike riding, gaming, and reading science fiction.

Deborah Thomson, C.R.N.P.

Deborah Thomson received a Master’s degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner Certificate in Woman’s Health Care from UCLA in 1983. Since that time she has worked in both a woman’s clinic and a private obstetric and gynecology practice. In 1990, she joined our staff as an OB/Gyn, NP. Deborah is AWHONN Certified. She is married and has a son and daughter.The Thomson family resides in Clifton.

Erin Lawson, PA-C

Erin grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Pittsburgh for her Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience. Thereafter she relocated to Washington DC where she earned her Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University while working full-time enjoying the complexities and discoveries of basic science research in the field of Endocrinology. She attended UMDNJ-Rutgers for her Physician Assistant education, graduating as the co-valedictorian of her class in 2002. After attending Nova Southeastern University in Florida for a fellowship in Family Medicine, she enjoyed working in field of Family Medicine for nine years before transitioning to her first love,Women’s Health, where she has practiced for the last four years. She is passionate about women’s wellness from adolescence through menopause. She believes in establishing long-term relationships with her patients to help understand and achieve her patient’s long-term wellness goals. She is interested in general well woman care through all phases of a woman’s life, family planning – whether it be contraception or pregnancy planning, hormone imbalance including polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopause transition, pregnancy care and general gynecological problems. Erin enjoys living in Manassas and spending time with herhusband and young son.

Susan Javins, RN

He attended UMDNJ-Rutgers for her Physician Assistant education, graduating as the co-valedictorian of her class in 2002. After attending Nova Southeastern University in Florida for a fellowship in Family Medicine, she enjoyed working in field of Family Medicine for nine years before transitioning to her first love, Women’s Health, where she has practiced for the last four years. She is passionate about women’s wellness from adolescence through menopause. She believes in establishing long-term relationships with her patients to help understand and achieve her patient’s long-term wellness goals.
